THE REAL SCOOP

Defrauding the Customs Department or Ripping off Utility Companies?

Picture
Mr. Mondesir has dug an even deeper hole in which his political career as we know it will be buried.  There is a saying about lies.  In effect it means that when you lie, you may have to lie to cover up that lie.  And ofcourse because the cover-up lie is indeed a lie, you will have to lie to cover up that one too.  So with Keith Mondesir, his lies are akin to a recurring decimal.

When one closely examines the testimony of Mondesir ( not to be confused with the type of testimony given in a church) one can immediately deduce a plethora of questionable matters.  One such matter is extremely glaring if you are to take Mr. Mondesir's word for gospel truth.  Lets us analyze the situation.  Mr. Mondesir claims that he had not indeed defrauded customs because infact his three bedroom HOUSE at BONNE TERRE was very much part of his VILLA at RODNEY BAY. ( These words in caps are either synonyms or grossly different words.)  None the less, if what Mr. Mondesir said is to be believed by even the most gullible of citizens, then it surely means that he has been ripping the utility companies for YEARS.  What Mr. Mondesir had been doing (and continues to do) is in effect, paying cheaper DOMESTIC RATES for a BUSINESS.  That dear reader is fraud in all aspects of the word.

So certainly, one can clearly see that it is either Mr. Mondesir is a FRAUD or he is a FRAUD.  What did I say earlier about lies again?

When did Bonne Terre become Rodney Bay?

This writer has, with the most deliberate effort, tried to be unbiased in everything that is written.  To continue that trend, the writer wanted to be in the right and in the know, on the Tuxedo Villas issue.  Concerned about being labeled an S.L.P. or O.N.E. apologist, the writer with due dilligence sought to ensure that truth, and not malicious lies, was the order of the day.  To that end, the writer - having heard Keith Mondesir claim with a high level of assurance that Bonne Terre is part of Rodney Bay - paid a courtesy call on the Land Registry Department to inquire about any new developments in land mapping.  It is upon speaking to not one but THREE senior officers at that department, the writer was assured that Bonne Terre not only has not moved from where it originally was located, but also that it has yet to be considered a part of Rodney Bay.  Infact, one of the officers went further to state categorically, that the two areas are totally distinct from each other.

What struck me the most, was the fact that Mr. Mondesir had this very department as part of his portfolio when he was demoted by Sir John in the first cabinet reshuffle, after his catastrophic performance as Minister of National Security.    Mr. Mondesir should either have known better when it came to the mapping of these two areas or he went out of his way to deliberately deceive the public.  If by happenstance Mr. Mondesir really and truly believes that Bonne Terre is indeed part of Rodney Bay, let me inform him publicly that the areas he speaks of are just as part of each other as Grande Rivierre, Dennery is part of Grande Rivierre, Gros Islet.

Is he Crookedly Condoning Crime and Corruption?

Picture
The Attorney General Dr. Nicholas Frederick has come out in support of his corrupt colleagues.  The man who is supposed to uphold the law , is actively endorsing illegalities.  In a recent interview, Mr. Frederick made it clear that he supported Keith Mondesir and the Cabinet in their blatant wrong-doing.  The Minister is quoted as saying, "The Cabinet of Ministers, as in my view has done absolutely no wrong, umm Mr. Mondesir in my view has done absolutely no wrong, and had he done wrong we would not have supported him."     No dear reader, do not adjust your computer screens or your glasses, you are reading correctly.  The Attorney General, as inept as one can get, has categorically stated that both the Cabinet and Mr.Mondesir have done ABSOLUTELY no wrong.   Surely Mr. Frederick knows more about the Tuxedo Villas issue than he let known in his affidavit or than Mr. Chastenet.  Infact, the Attorney General seems to know more about the issue than Mr. Mondesir  himself.

As for his Legal Opinion on the outcome of the case, the Attorney General had this to say, " I think the judgement comes to certain untruths, wrong uh uh untruths, untruths.......... so it is a very serious matter.  A very, very serious matter."   Is this the best Attorney General the Stephenson King administration can offer the citizenry?  Surely, any intoxicated person called to the bar, could deliver such gibberish, whether its JJ's Bar or Happy Day Bar
.

Man of Dishonour

Picture
Mr. Frederick was once someone people respected.  Someone people had a lot of time for.  Someone younger people even looked up to.  That was of course until....  they got to know him for who he REALLY is.  If one looks carefully and examine his performance as Attorney General, one can only deduce that either Mr. Frederick has surrendered his perceived integrity for cash, or he is just as crooked and corrupt as the rest of the gang.  Mr. Frederick as Attorney General has assisted Richard Frederick and Keith Mondesir among others to escape with serious criminal acts.  He has been the main person involved in trying to make those illegal acts of his colleagues become legal through unlawful means.  As a lawyer, before becoming Attorney General, Mr Frederick had only won ONE case, which he shared with his immediate family.  Boy, did they enjoy those Pitons.  Ever since taking up the post of top legal advocate for the government, he has presided over illegality after illegality, scandal after scandal, corrupt practice after corrupt practice, not to mention the sabotage of the work of the former Comptroller of Customs and his transferal.  Why is the country paying the man, who is supposed to ensure that government does things legally, to encourage them to do quite the contrary?  Seems like in this Cabinet,  Mr. Innocent is as GUILTY as them all.

Mondesir Found Guilty

Picture
In the Court of Actual Truth, Keith Mondesir was found GUILTY.  While in the case the judge ruled against Attorney General and the entire Cabinet of Ministers, the Court of Truth has found Mr. Mondesir guilty as charged.  Judge Brian Cottle's decision has in effect quashed the second Cabinet conclusion which sought to make an illegal act by Minister Mondesir legal.  After all the evidence was presented and the witnesses spoke, it was universally agrred that Mr. Mondesir had deliberately tried to defraud us taxpayers of huge amounts of money.  Isnt this the same money the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister accused customs officers of allowing the country to lose when they were having union meetings?  So one one hand the Prime Minister accuses the customs of causing the country to lose money, while on the other he is aiding and abetting a colleague to rip off the government, thus causing the very same country to lose money.  How hypocritical can PM king be?  The judgement against Mondesir in the Court of Truth cannot be appealed.  Truth cannot be overturned.  It is clear to all truth seekers that Minister Mondesir and his Cabinet colleagues are ALL guilty on the count of Corruption in Government.

Dire (Daher)Building Purcahse or IMF Loan?

Picture
According to the Government, it has made use of the Exogenous Shock Facility of the I.M.F.  The Cabinet's spokesman on Economics & Finance, Transport Minister Guy Joseph has sought to explain the rationale behind the I.M.F. loan.  In an interview Mr. Joseph remarked, "I mean if you DIN want to do anything with DIS MORNEY, you could just take it, put it on a FIX deposit, AN get 5%, maybe 4%, worse case scenario 3% on a fix deposit. An you know what? at DE EN of DUH ten years you could pay it in full, an get your percentage benefit.  In ten years, dis, dis is like getting free morney, morney that you not paying anything for."   Yes dear readers, that was the economic explanation given by the government's financial guru.  First of all, am I missing something here? Isnt there a Minister of Economic Affairs?  Isn't there a Minister of Finance? And isnt there a Prime Minister?  Oh! but the three are one and the same.  Where is Pm King in all of this?  What does he have to say on the matter?

Now to look carefully at the Economic Wizard Guy Joseph's explanation, and use his own type of analogy.  If the government is purchasing the dilapidated Daher Building for $33 MILLION, and the loan from the I.M.F. is $28 MILLION, then shouldn't the government use $28 million out of the $33 million for what ever it is that the I.M.F. loan seeks to do?  Then with the extra $5 million, the government can take up their financial guru's suggestion and place it on a fixed deposit and get 5%, 4% or worst-case scenario 3%.  And at the end of ten years you would have nothing to pay back, and you would have made more money for the people of St.Lucia.

Or is it that we are buying a broken down building for more money than a loan which is earmarked for meeting more pertinent needs?  What did Guy Joseph study, Economics or Airconomics?  It sure seems like his financial explanations have nothing of concrete substance just air.  Furthermore, any 8 year old, who knows simple Mathematics would advise the government otherwise.  Tell me about it!

Is there a need to be T.U.F. again?

The last government worker industrial action was met with mixed feelings by the public.  Some felt that the workers were justified, others felt that the children of the country would suffer.  Parents took issue not with the Prime Minister for paying workers, but rather the hit at teachers because they felt that exams, particularly Common Entrance was around the corner and that the students would suffer.  The SLTU President, Julian Monrose, for his part tried to ensure parents and the general public that teachers are responsible people who care about the children of St.Lucia.  The tug of war went on and on, until a resolution was arrived at when the Chamber of Commerce (supportive of the Government) stepped in.  At that point, it was agreed that the government would sign the collective bargaining agreement among other things.  The workers for their part kept to their end of the bargain and returned to work forth-with.  It must be noted also, that the very Minister of Education Arsene James and PS in Education Rufina Frederick who castigated teachers for "leaving schools unattended" boasted when results for the Common Entrance results came out.  They loudly reported that this year's results was the best that the island has had in years.  Parents and other doubters of the teachers, what say you now?  Have youeven called the very talkshows that were used to denigrate teachers to thank them for a job very well done, despite the conditions that they face?  Have you called Russel Lake's BRAVO to big them up?  If you haven't yet, maybe now is a good time as any to do so.

The results were in, workers were eagerly anticipating the Prime Minister keeping his word for the first time (that in itself would have been a grand event).

Then lo and behold! the Stephenson King led Cabinet, true to form, went back on their word.  This time it was the deadline date by which the C.B.A. would have been signed.  That date, suffice it to say, has passed since July 30th with paper untouched by ink.  The flip-flop of a Prime Minister has again shown that neither he nor his word can be trusted.  Instead of signing the agreed upon arrangement, Pm King has appointed a Cabinet sub-committee to review government's position.  Again, no prior notice, no discussion, no consultation.  And you wonder why workers strike?
